Last week saw the launch of our " Build A Well Campaign!" Every term the Islamic Society has a big Charity drive and this week on Campus we have been fundraising to build a well in Somalia and Cambodia. As recommended to us by the charity Muslim Aid, Somalia and Cambodia are two of the most neediest counties for water supplies. A well in Somalia costs on average £695 and the well in Cambodia around £650. The cost varies depending on the land as well as accessibility of the region. At last week's Jum'a a total of £678.25 was raised for the campaign. Alhamdulillah we have already met our target for one well! Jazakum Allah Khair for all your donations, may Allah SWT reward you all. |
